OK, so days like this one don’t happen that often…
We were asked to perform at a festival in Kings Cross for the NHS – to support the workers/nurses/doctors and also the patients and families who all rely on the amazing work of the National Health Service. So we were already very happy to be involved. There was a rumour that Jeremy Corbyn was going to turn up, but if he got elected (the day before) it would be very unlikely he would come.
But he got elected, and being a man of his word, he still came! We had a brief chat with him and he posed for a photo for us taken by a freelance journalist and we thought nothing of it. He gave an inspirational speech about mental health and we did our Bollywood performance which went well.
But then later that night our photo with Jeremy was on the front of a few online newspapers. Then the next day, we found that our photo with him was on EVERY major newspaper in the country, as well as the photo being shown on morning television! We were blown away and on cloud 9 all day.
We had lots of attention on social media and made the most of our day of fame. Just take a look at the photos below – me and Ambur got a little giddy!
