We offer half-day or full day Bollywood school workshops for all abilities in schools across the UK.
Bollywood Vibes has years of teaching experience providing Bollywood workshops to schools across the UK. Our Bollywood school workshops are a fun and energetic way to get children moving and learning about Indian culture. Whether it’s to help learn about Indian celebrations like Diwali, Holi or Eid, or simply to teach them about Indian culture, our workshops are a great way to get children educated. You can see how much fun children have by looking at our photos below.
In our school workshops we specialise in Bhangra, Classical Indian and Bollywood dance. Our dance teachers wear colourful costumes, bring in Indian props and also provide bindis and colourful hip scarfs for the children to wear so they really get into the Bollywood spirit!
We offer a full day or half a day of teaching, but we can also work with you to create a personalised teaching program depending on your requirements – just contact us and we can discuss it in more detail. We give students the opportunity to perform what they have learnt to their class or year group and the dance teacher can also do a short assembly about India to introduce the performance, if preferred.
All Bollywood workshops and teaching sessions are carried out by a trained Bollywood dance teacher who works on the creativity of dance, bringing in technique and fun. We believe it is very important to encourage students to embrace their creative ideas and have fun at the same time.
- Brief introduction and history of Indian dance
- Bollywood dance warm-up
- Bhangra, Classical or Bollywood dance taught & incorporated into a fun routine
- Explore your own choreographic ideas
- Bollywood performance: either at the end of the workshop or in assembly
- Cool down and stretch to end
The workshops can vary in length. We recommend from 30 to 45 minutes for KS1, while between 45 minutes and 2 hours is suitable for KS2 and above. We are happy to work around your school timetable.
We also offer drumming workshops so that students get to experience learning an Indian instrument. Children love banging things and making loads of noise, and now they can learn how to do it in a skilled way!
These workshops can be done on the same day as one of our dance workshops, or just booked separately as a one off Indian music workshop.
Our professional musician has 20years of experience working in schools and youth groups, bringing his music workshops to children of all ages. He brings in a large range of drums and percussion instruments for the children to try, before teaching them how to put a piece of music together for an informal performance at the end of the workshop. You don’t need any previous experience for these workshops and they are great fun.
If you have a dance workshop and a music workshop on the dame day, we can finish the school day with a fantastic assembly where the classes get to perform their dances and music to everyone which is a really fun thing for the children to work towards.
