What a night we had this week, holding dance auditions and a big rehearsal to learn an exciting new dance!
With such a busy time for us being in full flow of wedding season, we realised we need a few new dancers for all our events coming up.
So we put out an audition notice and had such a large response from dancers all wanting to become part of our team….
The dancers we invited to come along had to learn one of our new routines, and also perform their own solo which they had choreographed. We like to do both of these methods in an audition as this shows the different sides to a dancer. Some are quicker/slower at picking up routines, while others shine with their performance quality and choreographic skills in the solos.
The standard was so high, and our decisions were tough, but we picked four new dancers in the end. Now it’s just a case of teaching them all our performance sets, then we can get them out there to start performing!
We also had a full company rehearsal at the same time to learn a new dance. Its a Bollywood/Bhangra remix to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of you’ song which is hugely popular at the moment (OMG the song won’t get out of my head!). One of our amazing dancers Giada Nazurri choreographed it for us.
We learnt it in an hour, and i’ve made a little video of the rehearsal for you to see the work in progress, and how great Bollywood looks in big numbers. It’s not at all polished yet, but we love the energy of it and can’t wait to perfect it, and then start performing it.
So if you want to see us perform this dance, as well as our other favourites, please contact us for a quote. We hope to be performing at your event soon!
